Duckie Love

Top: Sugarhill Boutique c/o / Skort: Forever 21 (similar here) / Heels: Shoemint  / Bag: Gift / Necklace: Charlotte Russe / Cuff: Forever 21 (similar here)

It's Tuesday and I'm feeling playful!!!

My wardrobe wants to join me in the fun! How cute is my navy duckie blouse from Sugarhill Boutique!?!?! It's such a fun childlike piece but has some beautiful details which make it age appropriate for someone like me. I'm a sucker for details!!!! I ask myself  what makes this piece different or unique?? When you see the back you will know why I was so drawn to this top online (keep scrolling)!! The unique factor of this top is the tulip petal effect on the back which shows a little unexpected skin in a tasteful manner. I wanted to dress Spring appropriate so I paired the top with my favorite white skort, nude heels, and a beautiful leather purse. I hope this outfit makes you want to bring out the child in you!!!

XOXO,
Shirley

So-Cal Bloggers Brunch

Happy hump day everyone!!!

I had such a great weekend and I'm really excited to share my experience with everyone! I had the pleasure of attending the first So-Cal Bloggers Brunch at Areal Restaurant in Santa Monica this past Sunday. Let me start off by saying I've never been to this part of Santa Monica before and it was such a cute little beach community with great little boutique shops and restaurants.

My wonderful Fiancé dropped me off and that's when my nervousness set in. I had never been put in a situation where I did not know anyone. I am a very shy person especially when I don't have a wing man (like a familiar face or friend) by my side. I'm told by the host at Areal that my party was in the patio all the way to the left and my knees got a little weak. I walk towards the check in table where I am greeted with smiles, warm welcomes, and a name tag which had my name and my blogs name.

I look around and I notice there are about 3 or 4 groups of bloggers chatting it up and getting to know each other so I said to myself it's now or never!! I walk up to the closest group and interrupt them so I can introduce myself. I was greeted by Kate from Nautical by Nature, Leeann from Join the Gossip, and one other beautiful blogger. Soon after Lauren joined the group and we started chatting about our different blogs and how long we've been blogging. It was so interesting to hear every one's different stories and advice. I soaked up as much info as I could while sipping on my bottomless mimosa. I must say Areal's service was amazing!!!

I learned one very important thing from meeting all these different bloggers and that is always carry around a business card with all of your blog information including social media and contact information because you never know when you might need one. I don't want to bore everyone with all of the minor details but I just want to say I had a great time meeting all of the wonderful bloggers and I can't wait for the next So-Cal Bloggers event!! HUGE THANK YOU to So-Cal Bloggers and LA Brunchers for putting this event together and for letting me borrow some of the pictures which are on today's post (pictures that were borrowed are marked on the bottom right hand corner)!!

XOXO,
Shirley

Peachy

Top: Forever 21 / Skort: Forever 21 (similar here) / Heels: Shoemint / Bracelet: Forever 21 / Earrings: Charlotte Russe (similar here) / Necklace: Gift

I'm feeling peachy today!!

I have this new found love for life and my home state of California. Very soon I will start exploring my home state because I want to grow my blog into a lifestyle and fashion blog. I haven't decided how or when I will debut the lifestyle part of it but my wheels are turning. If you have any suggestions I would love to get some input on what you would like to see on the lifestyle part of the blog. Maybe restaurants I love or hiking spots with amazing views.

I thought this outfit would be perfect for any of you going to Coachella or a Spring/Summer festival. I love love love this top from Forever 21 because its so flowy and comfortable. Warning this top runs big so I would suggest going a size down, I'm usually a size medium but I bought a small because it fit better. The skort is great because you can show of your legs as if you were wearing a skirt but you don't have to worry about pulling a Britney (this means showing your vagina). I wouldn't recommend wearing high heels if you go to Coachella but I decided to wear them because I was going to the Cheesecake Factory with my love for lunch. I'm excited for this weekend coming up because I have a few exciting plans :) Will share with everyone next week! Stay tuned.

XOXO,
Shirley

Spring Fever

Bodysuit : Foreign Exchange (similar here) / Skirt: i jeans by Buffalo via JCPenney / Wedges: Simply Vera via Kohl's / Purse: Aldo Shoes (similar here) / Bracelet: Forever 21 / Earrings: Charlotte Russe

I'm so in love with spring at the moment that I wanted to incorporate it into my outfit today. I had so much fun shooting this outfit because I felt so beautiful in this skirt from JCPenney. Its made out of this very stretchy fabric that hugs you in all the right places and the high slit on the side adds some sex appeal in a very tasteful way. I'm not a big fan of long skirts because they are never long enough for tall girls like me but I think the length is perfect!! The flowers add some spring to this all black outfit which makes it just right for this season or the next one too!! How beautiful are the cherry blossoms in the background!! LOVE LOVE LOVE mother nature and all her beauty!! I hope everyone has a great day!!!

XOXO,
Shirley

Red Hot

Jumpsuit: Charlotte Russe / Cardigan: old / Belt: Go Jane / Heels: Charlotte Russe (similar here) / Bracelet: Talbots (gift)

The Los Angeles sun is like nothing else in this world, very inspiring to say the least. It has me extremely motivated and very excited for the future and what's to come… so bring on the vitamin D!!! This is why I chose to wear a red jumpsuit from Charlotte Russe because the heat has me feeling red hot!! I normally don't wear any sort of jumpsuit attire because it's not made for us tall girls with long legs, but this Charlotte Russe jumpsuit fit just right. It's so comfortable and I decided to dress it up with some gold embellished heels and I needed a little synch at the waist so I added the gold plated belt.

If you follow me on Instagram then you know that my love and I had an amazing steak salad at Sunny Grill on Venice Blvd after our amazing day in Venice Beach. I have been thinking about adding some lifestyle posts that would include different eateries, shops, hiking trails, and whatever else my little heart desires here in LA or where ever I travel too. I'm excited to grow my blog and see where it takes me. Not even the sky is the limit and I am realizing it now!! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

XOXO,
Shirley
