When your sunglasses become the center of your outfit then you know you've found something pretty special. I am completely obsessed with my new Chilli Beans sunglasses. The details are where its at and these sunglasses nailed it! My usual M.O. is the accent of gold but I was really drawn to these because of the clear frame, reminds me of my childhood. A fun little fact is Chilli Beans produces only 200 of a certain style which makes them huber exclusive and almost one of a kind. Happy Tuesday loves and I promise to be more active on the blog!!
Top: Foreign Exchange / Blazer: Altuzarra via Target / Pants: MNG by Mango via Jcpenney / Heels: Nina Shoes via Burlington Coat Factory / Bag: TJ Maxx
I have always been a big fan of mens fashion because it's centered around being comfortable and well tailored. In my show stopping blazer from the Altuzarra for Target collection I can finally join the Boy's Club in style. I am so impressed with all the details from the satin colar to the peplum-inspired jacquard back placket. FYI I'm bringing shoulder pads back baby!! Haha, maybe not but I think they make this already incredible blazer that much more chic. I paired it with some olive pleated pants from the MNG by Mango collection available at Jcpenney. These pants are so comfortable and the pleats on the front just give them a very expensive and upscale look. The heels are an oldie but goodie and they match the olive pants perfectly while adding some edginess to the look with the black studs. The bag almost looks like a briefcase or maybe I'm just crazy but it added a certain business women touch to the look.
Ladies don't be afraid to join the Boys Club and rock more comfortable and tailored looks for fall. You will definitely be seeing me in a lot more of these outfits once California decides to chill out (weather wise) a little bit.
This past Wednesday I had my very first meeting with a brand who wanted to collaborate. Needless to say I was very nervous and anxious but Tess (PR gal) put me at easy with her chill and easy to talk to personality. She gave me some great advice which I will pass on to all of you.
ATTEND AS MANY EVENTS AS YOU CAN and NETWORK YOUR BUTT OFF!!
It's a jungle out there and if you want to get noticed you need to put yourself out there either through contacting different brands by email or meeting them in person at events. I have passed on attending several events because I get really nervous or over think the whole situation. Well thats going to change as of today! I will definitely be attending more events and blogging about them when I can. If you have any questions, I am always here to help fellow fashion bloggers with whatever knowledge I have.
I woke up earlier than usual this past Sunday for the Altuzarra for Target release at 8am. As I started to get ready I became more and more excited. I arrived at Target around 7:45am and to my surprise there was a line at the door. There were about 7 women ahead of me anxiously waiting for the doors to open. As the clock struck 8 the doors opened and we all rushed in. To my delight everyone was very civilized and polite. The first item to fly off the shelves was the beautiful belt from the collection. I was fortunate enough to grab one of the last ones. I picked up about four or five different pieces from the collection in a variety of sizes because I wanted to make sure if I loved a certain piece I had the right size. After trying everything on I walked away with 4 amazing pieces to add to my ever expanding wardrobe.
