Have any of you watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes?? I surprised my fiancé and little brother with tickets over the weekend and we had a blast!! I had my reservations with this movie because I loved the bond between Caesar (Ape) and Will (James Franco). When I realized Will would not be back for the second installment of this series I was really disappointed and wanted to boycott the movie but my Fiancé and little brother really wanted to see it so I caved. I'm glad I did because it was such a great movie and they do remember Will in the movie which made me so happy!! I am a very huge animal lover and this movie really tugged on my heart strings because I have grown to love Caesar and only want the best for him.

Today's outfit is very simple and comfy for a theater date. My easy go to piece for the summer is this light and airy cardigan by the Lookbook store because it's not too heavy but it does offer you some coverage for an evening out on the town. I have this love hate relationship with my boyfriend jeans because at times they aren't very flattering but for today's look it works. I hope you all have a great day and happy humpday.

P.S. I am very excited to attend the Fashion for Breakfast in LA tomorrow because the host will be Lubov Azria who is the chief creative officer of BCBG Maxazria. I will try to take some pictures for the blog so all of you can get an idea of what goes on at one of these events.

I'm sorry to any of my readers for my absence this past week or so. I needed to take some time off from the blog because I had some personal family issues that weighed very heavy on my heart. I won't get into all the details but I just wanted to let everyone know I'm back and better than ever. This whole blogging thing is such hard work and I don't think many people realize exactly how much time and effort goes into one post. This is why I utilized my time off to concentrate on a better more organized plan when it comes to my future blog post.

Yesterday my Fiancé and I decided to take a morning stroll in Long Beach because it was our first weekend with no commitments. It felt amazing and so relaxing! I purchased this yellow slip dress from JCPenney with no intention of wearing it with my long dip dye cardigan but when things work you just have to go with it and hope you have a great hair day too!! I'm not really into wedges but when I laid my big brown eyes on this pair from Shoedazzle I had to buy them right away. I must say it was a drag to actually wait 5 business days for my order but it was definitely worth the wait. I am crowning these babies the wedge of the summer because they practically go with everything you can think of and they also come in black. I know big time score!!

After postponing it for a few weeks I finally went dress shopping with my best friend who is also my Maid of Honor. I am so thankful to have her pushing me becuase it takes about 3 to 5 months to recieve your wedding dress once its been ordered. I had no idea but I'm glad I'm looking now with out being on a time crunch. We went to David's Bridal and I was so overwhelemed with all the dresses I had at my disposal. I figured out one thing very quickly, I don't want a white dress because it's almost too blinding for my eyes. I really like the look of ivory because it's very soft and pretty, plus you can't really tell it's not white until you put it next to a white dress. I was very drawn to off the shoulder dresses and my best friend suggested I go with a mermaid cut which flattered my figure perfectly. I did get a little discourged looking at the iPhone pictures we had taken earlier of all the wedding dresses because they didn't look as magnificent as they did in person. I am all about pictures so if it doesn't look great in a picture I don't want it. I will be going back to David's Bridal next week to make sure I look at every single dress before I make my decision. I would really love any advice from anyone who has already gone through this because I feel a little lost. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Dodger Game

Top: Fanzz (cute tops here and here) / Jeans: Levis / Heels: Shoemint / Bag: Louis Vuitton

This past weekend I spent all of my free time with my love. We decided to do something new and out of the ordinary which led us straight to the Dodger game. I broke the diet and had a famous Dodger dog which tasted like it was from my childhood elementray cafeteria. No bueno but it's all part of the experience. I couldn't complain because we had amazing seats, the sunset was beautiful and the moon was so magnificently large. I wore my new Shoemint platform heels with some comfy Levis jeans and a very appropriate LA Dodger top to support my team! Happy to report we won!! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend.

I have always had insecurities over my legs and how much cellulite I have but this summer I'm letting it all hang out. I love these high waisted shorts because they keep your stomach from hanging out and they don't squeeze the fat out of your thighs. I know I'm not the only person living in their high waisted shorts this summer!! Can you believe I found the perfect pair of shorts at Forever 21 for $30 which is a great deal!! I wore this whole ensemble to Sea Side Lagoon for my friend's daughter's first birthday. This is why I wore the one piece bathing suit as a top and a light airy kimono over it to brighten up the whole look! I hope everyone is having a great week!! Hang on just a little bit longer because it's almost the weekend!!

I gave the blog a little makeover and I'm so happy with the finished product. It looks so clean, simple and it highlights my love for fashion perfectly. Now you can find me at www.truehonestfashion.com! I am currently watching "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta" and it's getting me so excited to go dress shopping. I will be stopping by David's Bridal sometime this week to see what my options are. I will tell you all about my experience next week!

If you couldn't tell by all of my fashion choices I love anything that puts your shoulders front and center. I think it's one of the most beautiful parts of a women! Today's top from Forever 21 definetley highlights my best asset. The color of the top is bold, bright and perfect for the summer. I paired it with some of my favorite Levis jeans to keep it more on the casual comfy side. The heels and the bag blended in perfectly. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!

Shirley
